NFL Cheerleaders and the Younger Audience

Filed Under NFL Cheerleaders Articles |

A mother had an interesting story to share which involves a Sea Gals poster. Now as grown adults, we’ve come to appreciate their hard work and effort in dancing for the crowds. However, what happens when your young son or daughter brings home from grade school a poster of the Sea Gals in full uniform? Should a teacher disallow these giveaways by the squad after showing up for a “spirit” assembly? Now I have nothing against NFL cheerleaders. They’re not bad people and they have nothing but the best intentions of providing good sports entertainment. However, some may think differently about whether or not their exposure in revealing uniforms is “healthy” for the younger audience. What are your thoughts? Leave a comment and share your opinion!

As a procheerleader, I also have also questioned some of the materials that other cheerleaders from other teams hand out to children in autograph cards. When teammates return back from exciting troop visits or calendar shoots, the girls who went show us calendars, posters, and autograph cards from other squads. There were a few autograph cards I saw in lingerie and suggestive poses that were not suitable for children! Generally, I see nothing wrong with autographs cards with lingerie for the adult crowd, but I believe there should be other autograph cards or poses that are child friendly and suitable enough for them to take to school with out raising eyebrows! Family members feed into this too. I would not feel comfortable giving my Uncle Leonard a picture of myself with only poms covering up my breasts. But to each their own.
